About us.
House Lights: A Manchester, NH-based 5-piece post-hardcore/alt metal/rock band, crafting emotive soundscapes interwoven with intimate narratives. Ethereal vocals traverse over textured guitars, resonant drums, and wistful synth undertones. Drawing from diverse musical influences, House Lights forges a distinct musical fusion.
Emerging from the remnants of their prior project, Horns Become Halos, the ensemble comprised of wordsmith and guitarist Mathew Laramie, frontman Sam Beachard, bassist and screamer Bobby Spence, and drummer Adam Soucy. After a nine-year hiatus, the group resurfaces with the 2023 release, ‘What it Means to Feel,’ a compelling 11-track record that both expands upon and fortifies their signature sonic identity.
Enriched by inspirations like Tool, Alexisonfire, and Linkin Park, House Lights seamlessly melds these disparate influences into a cohesive auditory voyage. Reminiscent of the early 2000s Warped Tour era, their contemporary reinterpretation offers a fresh resonance.
In 2011, Horns Become Halos dissolved amidst studio complications during the production of their sophomore album. Despite the prospect of collaborating with former ‘A Day To Remember’ guitarist, Tom Denney, unresolved issues led to an incomplete record and a three-year hiatus. Overcoming obstacles, Mat and Sam’s reconnection in 2014 marked the inception of House Lights. Together with Bobby, they crafted the ‘Stages’ EP, a concept album delving into the intricacies of grief.
Originally intended as a breakthrough release, the EP took a backseat due to members’ divergent schedules, navigating life’s ebb and flow. Over the ensuing nine years, House Lights’ members remained musically engaged, culminating in a spring 2022 reunion. Infused with renewed vigor and vision, and enriched by guitarist Josh Noonan, bassist Ethan Labbe, and drummer Evan Carney’s inclusion, House Lights is poised to create profound impact through candid, resonant compositions, forging genuine connections with their audience.
